….And a Happy New Year!

Christmas (and my birthday—woo!) have come and gone and 2016 is officially here! Before we dive off into all things '16, I want to show off a few things Santa brought to help make my new year great (and quite aesthetically pleasing, at that!)

1. NERD ALERT. Books. Not just any books, WORK books! Gross, right? Not at all. Since transitioning from the “magical world of weddings” to the glamorous life of a design assistant, I have new work crushes and the yearning to learn as much as I can! So, here’s to hoping this reading material will satisfy both!
(See the original “20 Facts about Mallory” post if you’re confused!)

2. Sweet Boyfriend—Coordinates from the first time we hung out. (Insert *Awwwwwww*)
And in rose gold, because,…obviously.

3. I know you’re thinking, “Is this record player that you have been oogling over at Vessel Vintage for months?” Why yes, it is! Boyfriend refinished and rewired it and it’s going to go perfectly as a dual record player/end table in my new apartment! Can’t you just hear the needle dropping from here? Ahhhhh, #midcenturyperfection

4. My Fancy little ring.
Remember how I’m obsessed with my dog? (Again, see original “Mallory” post) Well now I can proudly sport my owner status to the little diva all the time! Plus, I have man hands, so I love dainty rings that can add any sprinkle of femininity!

5. Mint Clock! This retro little thing I didn’t even know I needed until I had it! My friend Lindsi knows me too well!

6. Last but definitely not least, home bar accessories!
I’m leaving off pictures on this one because I want to save my bar cart for its own separate post, but trust me, if you’re into mixed metallics, bright colors, bold graphics and/or champagne, you’re going to love it!

May's Obsessions

During the process of designing or remodeling a space, most people do a loooooottt of browsing online; For inspiration, shopping, or just to see what is “out there” currently. We do the same here at Red River.  Often times, during our search to make someone else’s home beautiful, we stumble upon things that we just wish we could keep (or afford) ourselves! To allow you to share in our envy we are starting a “Monthly Obsession” series. Furniture, patterns, colors, products, etc.! Just a few things that, if time and space allowed, Angie and I would have ALL of!
1. This fabric.
Angie has been oogling over this fabric for some time now. Ballard Designs and all of it's beauty allows you to pick any of it's designs and see it in any of their large choices of fabrics!
But I agree with Angie...I think this fabric would look great on just about anything!

2. Magical Thinking Pyramid Boxes!
These pyramids are multifunctional! Jewelry holders, table decorations, or whatever your little heart can dream up! I think they're adorable!

3. Abstract Art Journal Table Shade
Land of Nod, the children's line from Crate & Barrel has the most adorable furniture and decor! When their latest magazine came to the office Angie fell in love with this gem!

4. Mooreland Wall Art, Alpaca
Not that I don't love everything from Anthropologie, but the fun colors and the whimsical-ness written all over this  cute little alpaca just makes me so happy!

5. Estate Crystal Brass Finials
If just listing the combination of "glass + brass" was an option, that definitely would have made Angie's list! This modern twist on traditional hardware is just dreamy!

6. Watchdog Tiebacks in Bronze
I know, I know, again with the Anthropologie! I would use these at tiebacks, hooks or anything and everything in between!!
They're soooo cute!

7. This beautiful sofa!
Last but not least, this couch....THIS COUCH! I want it so bad! This picture is from the design blog "Style at Home," but it doesn't say where it came from or (if it was a DIY) who made it!
If anyone can find out where to buy it I'll pay you in hugs!
(I'll take those hairless cats, too!)

Extension Cords are Boring.

Extension cords! Glamorous, right?!

Well, not usually…
Generally, extension cords rank right up there with smoke detectors, step stools, and vacuum cleaners---Basic and boring things that look the same in everyone’s home. Most people try their best to hide items like this, anyway. What if that didn’t have to be the case anymore?

We think these extension cords from Rejuvenation are just the coolest. Practical items don’t have to be boring!  With funky, cool utility cords like this, you won’t have to worry about hiding them!
