Sarah's Favorite Things

It's difficult to decide what to blog about when it's your last blog for a rad company like Red River Remodelers. And yes, it is a little sad that I'm moving to Austin, Texas to work for Restoration Hardware, but not quite sad enough that I don't go. So, in an attempt to mend the fresh wound of learning about my leaving, I am going to show y'all some of my favorite products! All design related, of course!

I want to start with a company Angie Jackson turned me on to. She has created a monster, to be honest. Rocky Mountain Hardware makes some of the most beautifully crafted items I have ever seen. Very expensive, but that is how I roll. Most expensive thing in the room? That's the thing I want. Here are a few of their products I love specifically:

I'll throw another Angie place in here, my people over at Schoolhouse Electric Supply Co. Jeez louise, y'all, they have some cute stuff! My birthday is December 30th, but I accept gifts all year round just in case anyone wanted to throw any of these my way:

This Proper Measure Brass Cuff has been calling my name for months now:

And this Isaac Sconce. I mean, really!

I realize this has become a trend, but I really, really dig the taxidermy and skulls and antlers being tossed in with a clean look. I don't want to live in a cabin, but I love to add a little badassery to my spaces. Is your room slightly too girly? Throw a gnarly ram skull on the wall! Is your man-cave too manly? Throw a metallic ram skull on the wall! Talk about possibilities!
Here is just one from Restoration Hardware since they are all over pinterest and houzz and the rest of the planet:

Here is something I actually own! The Latitude Low Dresser from cb2.com. Definitely a favorite store of mine for several years now. I, however, have this in the discontinued "grellow" color. It's very 1970s. I recommend this dresser 100%. I love it so much. Yes you have to put it together, but it is pretty easy and worth it. The drawers slide so nicely. It's a great size. Great quality. I've been patting myself on the back for this purchase since it happened.
I hate when people live in a space that they do not care for. You're there all the time! Don't cheap out on the important stuff. If you can't afford that console, just wait until you can instead of filling your house with a ton of furniture and hardware that you don't even like. Then you're just looking at it all the time, thinking to yourself, "Why did I buy this?!" Don't get cheap tile just because it's available immediately, be sure it's something you really want! Then you can be sitting in the shower thinking, "Man! I sure am glad I got these fancy fixtures and rad tile and convenient shower seat!" And look, now you shower everyday because you want to, not because you have to.

So. That's it. Surround yourself with all your favorite objects just like you do with all your favorite people!
