A Bathroom Built For Two - Master Bath Remodel, Benton, LA

Okay, let's all admit it... Women tend to have a larger array of "stuff" than men... Thus, we tend to take up more space and need more room. This was the problem Red River Remodelers tackled with our latest master bathroom remodel in Benton, LA. Our clients had accumulated a lot of clutter and were ready to start fresh!

Their main concerns: their tub was too small, they were sharing one vanity, and there was very little space for storage.

As you can see in the before pictures, when something isn't meeting your expectation for it's main purpose, it becomes a catch-all for everything else...

So, collectively we had a few goals: To create one large walk-in shower with a bench, to give the husband his own space, and to create plenty of storage for the misses :)

Aesthetically, she wanted to keep it traditional but also have a clean and current vibe.  Here's how this master bath turned out!

To bring in a more current look, we had River Cities Floors lay this beautiful Daltile Emblem ceramic floor with a great horizontal pattern.

Red River Remodelers turned their shared vanity into her vanity, and designed two built-in storage cabinets to bookend the mirror adding that extra storage to alleviate clutter!

To make better use of the space, we completely removed the bathtub and created an additional vanity with a built-in medicine cabinet just for him!

Upon removing the bathtub, it gave us additional space to extend the shower and design a bench. River Cities Floors tiled the shower with Daltile Palatina glazed porcelain with an glass accent strip of Antigua tile. Red River Remodelers finished it off with a frame-less shower door to give it a clean edge.

To complete the goals we set out to accomplish, we decided to add in even more storage! Initially, they had one deep closet that stretched from the bathroom to the hallway, leading to things getting lost in the depths. We decided to divide the depth in half and make two separate closets: one accessible from the bathroom, and one accessible from the hallway.

It's all in the details:

Antigua tile wraps around the walk-in shower and accents the built-in caddies.

An amazingly detailed Toto under counter sink from Coburn's adds just the right finishing touch to this traditional bathroom.

All in all, Red River Remodelers created tons of storage space, his and her vanities, and a walk-in shower... a bathroom built for two :)

Subway Tile Party!

Yes, you read that title correctly! We are throwing a subway tile party during today's blog and you are all invited. Subway tile may seem plain just sitting in a box on shelf in Lowe's, but we know better. We are going to share with you several Red River Remodelers projects in which we used the Subway in a variety of ways.

First off, we have a kitchen back splash in the South Highlands area of Shreveport where we mixed in a little glass to zazz it up. I think it worked out pretty well! Look at how adorable and spunky this space is!  Great way to introduce color but not be overwhelmed by it.

In this project Red River Remodelers used a glass accent tile band that really helps to create movement and energy across the kitchen. This can also work well to make a smaller kitchen seem larger. It's all... an illusion!

In this kitchen, and coincidentally the one above, we put in a travertine subway tile that has more texture to it than your typical porcelain or ceramic subway tile. We are definitely still in love with this galley style layout!

I know some of you have seen this bad boy on the Parade of Homes a couple weeks ago! Here we brought things to the next level used a beveled edge subway.

In this little kitchen we have your typical white porcelain subway, but we used a darker grout to really make things pop! Dark grout and dark cabinets? Yes ma'am!

Same white subway tile just with white grout! White cabinets, dark counter tops, sleek and clean white subway back splash. I could throw a party in this kitchen!

Don't forget to check out our Houzz! Add our projects to your idea books! You don't have a Houzz.com account?! What're you waiting for?! It's always a design party over there!
